About The Event
We've all been there. The scene hits a lull and there's nowhere to go... But it doesn't have to be that way! Adding high stakes to a scene is easier than you think, even from the most mundane origins. Placing importance on your scene partner, giving your character secrets, as well as many other high stakes tactics will be taught during this workshop to avoid boring improv. Whether you're the hero facing the villain in the final act, or two people talking about their sack lunches: the moment can always be heightened! And your audiences will thank you for it.
Peter Corey is a tall/lanky Hoosier-boy who moved to Chicago to be tall/lanky, but also an actor/improviser. A founding member of High Stakes LLC, he regularly performs with Hitch*Cocktails at Annoyance Theatre, which features some of the most talented improvisers in the city. And him. Peter has trained with the iO Training Center, Second City, Annoyance and performs at all three. He currently also produces and performs in his Tuesday night show: Ten Dollar Comedy at Judy’s Beat Lounge (Second CIty’s Studio Theatres) and does other various acting gigs around the city. Peter has taught workshops across the country and believes that all great improvisers are also enablers of potential. He hopes he can help you uncover some more of yours!
